OTB's tables are by far the most authentic looking Vietnam terrain I've seen. They really capture the feel of the Vietnamese countryside. Every time I look at one of his AARs I can almost smell the pig crap and feel the sweat crawling down my.........they're really good, is what I'm saying.

Hi praise indeed! :cheers

Not so long ago I finally divulged my hobby to my Vietnamese lady friend... :blush

She wasn't that impressed with the photos of my US Marines, saying something like "they don't look particularly like they are in VN".

So then I showed her some photos of my tabletops and she was like.. :shocked "OK I'll shut up now..." :roflmao

Vietnamese ladies are the best when it comes to getting a pass on your wargaming hobby...

I tell my wife, "Every overweight, middle aged New Zealand man spends all his disposable income on this stuff."

She just shrugs.

Just in case (perish the thought) Fields of Fire should crash, I have decided to compile my various postings here on my own Website as a backup. The following is a compilation of all my posts in this thread, so it will be familiar stuff, but offers a quick one-stop shop:

I will post on links to my various AARs here too once I get them up and running.

Your figures and terrain are always an inspiration OTB. Thanks for making sure we'll always be able to see them.

The rest of your site was interesting too- I wouldn't have guessed that you are actually a zombie.

Here are my US M113 ACAVs, made from Airfix kits:

There's some low-level deck-top clutter, but I was mindful of breakability, so I have kept them relatively squared away:

The vehicle names are hand-painted:

The M60 machine gunners are ESCI figures with the original MGs as the Airfix M60s look like Tonka Toys.

Also in the works are a couple of platoons of ARVN and some more buildings, hopefully coming soon...

Thanks Jimmi! :) The PSP is from a bicycle repair kit - I cut it out of the piece of metal provided to roughen up the tyre surface before you stick on the tyre patch. :whistle
