F-100 Super Saber in RVN livery

Postby Mishima » Thu Jan 21, 2016 4:51 pm

Not sure of the historical accuracy here but a while ago I bought an F 100 it was silver with a rainbow livery more air show than theatre of war. It's been sitting in the cupboard black Undercoated for a while but I thought I'd get it out and finish it off.
I didn't have much in the way of decals the right size except the old 1:72 Bird Dog from Airfix (I think).
Anyway, I think the markings pick it up nicely. I messed the tail check up a bit. Hopefully touch it up later.

You write "Born to Kill" on your helmet and you wear a peace button. What's that supposed to be, some kind of sick joke?

If you ever have the chance, buy "Fall of the Flying Dragon: South Vietnamese Air Force 1973-75", I'd strongly recommend it. Lots of colour prints, lots of OOB info, and some nice accounts of the SVAF in action.

I'll take a look for that.
I have a great resource in our local library has an American Memorial Library attached. Kindly donated by the Friends of the Eighth Air Force Association.
Books a-plenty on American culture and history with an exceptional section on Vietnam and aircraft.
I'll take a look.

Accurate or not, looks great!
Grunt Sgt: "We got 6 confirmed kills..."
Intel Officer: "NVA or VC?"
Grunt Sgt: "Monkeys. And they didn't say what side they were on."
