Good AAR. The helicopter rules could form a basis for Vietnam as well, with some modification here and there.

Cheers Tom,

I was considering the same thing re: using them for Nam. Was considering maybe treating it as an Artillery barrage or Air attack of some sort.

Any thoughts on what modifications you think should be made?

Tactics for an air assualt would be to paste the borders of The LZ with arty then when rounds compleat the escorting gunships would work any treelines with fire. at that point the first wave would go in and troops would begin to secure the perimiter for follow on lifts.....after that everyone would clear the airspace for lack of fuel or ordinace. slicks would not hang around the LZ because they would be needed for further lifts and are not gunships. Gunships did not have unlimited loiter time on station. after the Lift was complete any support would come from FSB or fast movers. Free world US forces conducted all large opps well with in range of several FSBs....
