Hi Cocky , already seen this on your blog ... great work ..and I love the way you present this .
I'm in the middle of a rules-writing project, and "Hollywood Vietnam" is a thing we want to expand ... to make a 'pulp' genre ..but based in 1960's Vietnam (or 1950's Indochina).
This has evolved from occasions when having set up a nice table and played a big game through .. but before we dismantle the table, use the setup to play a skirmish action with really simplified / streamlined rules and scripted scenarios where newcomers can get a 'feel' of the mechanics in a quick (and tongue-in-cheek) way using "hero"-class characters who almost never miss, nearly always 'save' , don't have to worry about ammo or morale or obstacles or comms or historical accuracy ,
ie; ? want to manpack a minigun ? ...yes ! if Hollywood says you can (eg. Predator) ..you can .
? want to take on a NVA company with a bow and explosive-tipped arrows ? ... Rambo did it ...so it must be feasible
? did the NVA have a secret mecha program sponsored by the soviets ? ..of course they did, ....so did the CIA,... with technology developed from Area 51
.... and here's what it looked like...
somes don't like this ..( because they have told us so ) , but we are developing away nonetheless .
I completely applaud your efforts fellow assault-pioneer of the gaming world !
