Work in progress?

What are you working on? What's on your workbench?

Work in progress?

Postby alnewhaven » Sat Mar 05, 2016 9:40 am

Well it's the pile lead on the table? Some ARVN arrived this week although still not finished my NVA ( sappers under way in the foreground). Trouble is Jimmi despatched them from Oz faster than I can get my *** in gear to paint them. My other half does make ridiculous comments like " why don't you finish the first ones before you order more?" WTF !

No Flashpoint. Which I have fallen in love with and a year after moving from 10s to 15s, I now find myself inclined to replace the old glory ( not great) and Peter Pig ( reasonable but lacking the character) with Flashpoint. Shame no UK stockists :-(

Another aspect of female logic ...my football team ( thats soccer for you furriners) is in one Cup Final....and may be in another if results go right. Checked calendar and something arranged in May for day of second Final ( which we havent won since 1902). Denise comment, 'But you're already going to a Cup Final?' I despair!!

:roflmao Sorry buddy but that's too funny. I know the feeling because the other day I was looking for something in my hobby room and I found this box that I had no idea what was in it. Opened it up and a bunch of SHQ miniatures winced their eyes at the bright light and said "you forgot about us didn't you?" :huh

The lead pile of shame (or unfulfilled dreams). I think we all have one. Unfortunately mine keeps growing... :whistle

I likely could not buy a fig for many years and still have loads to paint. Still I keep chugging on and buying more. Think of it as an investment for retirement... :cheers

Same here! It's embarrassing. I even have lead for projects that I am waaay no longer interested in. Some, like my 28mm pulp, are just pipe dreams that probably won't ever get done with the plethora of 15mm i have to do. And all of the DUST models I bought for WWW2... (which the pulp figures look really weird with!)
Grunt Sgt: "We got 6 confirmed kills..."
Intel Officer: "NVA or VC?"
Grunt Sgt: "Monkeys. And they didn't say what side they were on."

Well the first figures for the aforementioned Austrian Seven Years Army were bought in 1985. They finally got finished and took the table in 2010. So that's 25 years in the making or 3 times as long as the war lasted. Let's not go to the 25mm napoleonics from 1977 on. Started nam with Platoon 20 20sin early 80s. The returned with pendraken 10s and now 15s

Hahahaha! .. just read this ... you are really stretching the concept of "work in progress" to its' theoretical limits.

I have an epic ork horde with a few of those really unique "gargant" models GW did (in metal) way back when ... I started collecting this back in the early 90's and have been shopping for bargains on ebay periodically ever since ... still no closer to painting it all up .... I consider this my 'retirement' project .

"pile of shame" ... i like that ! :lol
